The Wizard of Oz - Youth Edition Boston reviews
Disappointing at best
The performance at this Theatre with a $50- $100 ticket price fell flat for me, despite my fairly high expectations for the band I go see. They lacked enthusiasm and seemed to just want to play their songs and move on. The crowd was in a constant state of disagreement over whether to sit down or stand up, with some yelling for the audience to sit between songs. Others wanted to dance, which led to a lackluster atmosphere. The use of cell phones for texting, web browsing, and filming was inexcusable and distracting. The sound quality was muddled and did not impress me, especially the vocals. I have a high regard for the acoustics of the theatre, but it was difficult to interpret the vocals. If I were to see The Wizard of Oz - Youth Edition again, I would prefer a longer performance allowing for extended jamming and elaboration in their songs, which is the best part of the show but rarely experienced in this 1.5-hour performance.
